Beautiful Couple

Down on the street

Walking fast

Their fingers intertwined 

Both tall

Both well dressed


Today was drizzling

Weather was cold

But winter sale banner was up

So, they buckled up

Because she wanted to go shopping


“Can I come to this store?” She pointed to one display window in the corner or a building. Her eyes looked at a mannequin wearing a flashy dress. She wanted one.


“Let’s go.” He let her lead the way.


She looked around. Touching one hanged clothes and another, feeling the fabric, looking at the price, considering whether the amount was worth paying. He followed wherever she went without saying anything, only when she asked he would give opinions.


“How about this one?” She took out one sweater. Turtle neck. Thick materials. Red color. 


“It’s beautiful. Try it out.” He said.


She grinned at his approval. She tried it on, and it looked bright and cool on her. They both like it. So, he decided to buy it for her. 


“Your bag is so cute.” The cashier said to her.


“Thank you.” She smiled widely, always loving it when someone complimented her. He chuckled seeing her reaction. Put out his card and enter the PIN. Receipt out. He said thanks and took the paper bag with the store logo on it. She held his arms, and thanked him sweetly.

One hand holding the other

And the other one keeping several shopping bags

One looking flashy and happy

The other one looked rigid like a bodyguard 


“What else do you want to buy?” His voice was deep.


“Skincare.”


“Ok, lead the way.”


“You are so happy when we go shopping, right?” The corner of his lips up when he saw her bright face entering every store


“Of course, shopping is my passion.”


“But I love it because today I’m here with you.” She added. It was such a rare occasion that he agreed to follow. He disliked shopping with a bunch of people, but today was an exception.


“Which one do you like more, my presence or my card?” Raising his eyebrows.


“You card, of course!” She didn’t even hesitate.

 

“Such a gold digger.” He shook his head


“You can call me that as long as your card may be with me. Amen.” 


He laughed. She laughed. 

Gold diggers who aim for 25 euros sweater.

Down in the street.

The prettiest smile on their face.

Weather was cold 

But their heart filled with warmth and joy


As long as his bank accounts were fat

As long as they were together

As long as he could hold her hand to prevented her from taking too expensive stuffs

Shopping wouldn’t be a problem today

One wanted to stay home

The other one wanted to go around

But as long as they were happy

They always be the most beautiful couple down on the street

Once in a while, you would see someone confessing about their feelings towards you.      Aku dan makanan adalah dua hal yang sangat berkaitan erat. Sepanjang ingatanku, hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan memori indah hampir semuanya berkaitan dengan makanan. Entah itu makan masakan mama yang dulu setiap hari selalu dihidangkan di meja makan, disuapi papa subuh-subuh sambil siap-siap sekolah, atau jajan makanan yang bervariasi di kantin sekolah.
